Wir, das sind Claudia Gross-Gehrig, meine Ehefrau, und ich, Christoph Gross.
Wir wohnten in Winterthur. Nun sind wir umgezogen ins nahe Seuzach. Natürlich zusammen mit Labrador Retrievern.

Wir beide sind pensioniert. Claudia war Lehrerin, danach die erste Museumspädagogin des Naturmuseums Winterthur. Und als solche baute Claudia u.a. dort auch das Kindermuseum auf. Ich war in verschiedenen Importgesellschaften für Automobile der Emil Frey Gruppe https://www.emilfrey.ch/de/emil-frey-gruppe/wir-ueber-uns tätig. Zu den oft bereisten Lieferländern gehörten Grossbritannien und Japan, phasenweise auch die USA.
Seit über zwanzig Jahren arbeitet Claudia hobbymässig intensiv mit Hunden. Die jagdliche Apportierarbeit, Field Trials, aber auch die Begleithundearbeit und Spasssportarten gehören dazu.
Bis im Jahr 2025 hielten uns vier Labrador Retriever aus Arbeitslinien auf Trab. Jetzt sind es noch deren drei. Hunde gehören somit seit Jahren zentral zu unserem Leben und prägen unseren Alltag. Wir gelten als interessierte, aktive «Rentner» mit Freude an der Natur und am früher grossen, heute am kleineren Garten.
Winterthur mit den heute rund 115000 Einwohnern war bekannte Industriestadt. Heute gilt die Stadt eher als Bildungsstandort und Arbeitgeber im Dienstleistungssektor. Unsere heutige Wohngemeinde Seuzach bietet ländlichen Dorfcharakter mit bester Infrastruktur und optimalen Verkehrsverbindungen zur naheliegenden Stadt Winterthur.
Die Stadt Winterthur ist zwischen Hügeln gelegen. Der vom Westen her gesehene Stadtteil Wülflingen mit dem Wolfensberg, an dessen Flanke direkt hinter unserem Haus der Rebberg des Strickhofes liegt, ist noch landwirtschaftlich geprägt.
Ruhig gelegen, mit Blick auf die Rebberge, nahe von Kuhweiden und Wald und doch nur kurze Distanzen zum Dorfkern und zum Stadtzentrum.
Weshalb diese Homepage?
Diese Homepage ist aus der Idee entstanden, unsere Aktivitäten mit Freunden zu teilen. Da ich seit Jahren gerne fotografiere, hat sich auch ein ansehnlicher Stock an Aufnahmen angesammelt. Diese werden nun in lockerer Folge auf dieser Homepage publiziert.

Claudia and Christoph – Who we are, where we live and what we do…

We, that is Claudia Gross-Gehrig, my wife, and I, Christoph Gross. We lived in Winterthur, Switzerland. In 2025 we moved to a nearby village called Seuzach. Claudia and I are retired, and we share our home with Labrador Retrievers. Claudia was a teacher, then started as the first teacher of museum education in the Museum of Natural History in Winterthur and created the Children’s Museum of Natural History. I was in the management of various car import businesses of the Emil Frey Group. That meant travelling a lot mainly to Great Britain, to Japan and to some extent to the USA. In all of these countries, car production plants were situated.
Claudia’s hobby is working with dogs, and she is doing that for more than twenty years. Our Labradors are mainly trained for retrieving dummies or game in working tests, at picking ups and field trials, but other dog work keep them in shape, too.
Up to 2025 four Labrador Retrievers kept us on the move, now we share our home with three working Labs. Dogs are part of our life. Besides, we are what is considered «retirees with many interests». After moving to Seuzach into a condo with garden, we still enjoy our dogs and all aspects of nature.
Winterthur, currently with 115’000 inhabitants, once was a city of industry, in the past decades our home town was transformed into a center of education. Seuzach, the village we moved to recently, is offering all amenities and public transport to the city of Winterthur.
Our home town is nestled between hills. At the western outskirts, just behind our home, we look at the vineyard and cow pastures of the Agricultural Collage Strickhof , making us feel like living in the countyside.
Why an own Blog?
I started this website to share some of our activities with our friends. And since the stock of photos has increased in the past few years, I can add pictures on an irregular basis to this blog and hopefully keep it alive.
